Stay Sane: A Formal Mentorship to Reduce Vicarious Traumatization in Forensic Nurses Quality Improvement Pilot Program
The purpose of this quality improvement project is to develop a formal mentorship program for forensic nurses with weekly learning modules focused on implementing self-care, VT education, and psychosocial support to reduce VT, as measured by the Vicarious Trauma Scale (VTS), and possibly improve job satisfaction and increase retention.
The pilot mentorship program will run over 12 weeks during the Spring semester of 2027, with weekly learning modules, resources, and activities. Resources needed for participation in this project include internet access and a device to access learning modules, resources, and surveys.
